There's a space-faring race out there where family members share a hive mind. Since the race is space-faring, it spends a good chunk of time in space, fighting aliens, discovering multi-coloured spatial anomalies, and solving puzzles set upon them by harsh but benevolent species.
But wherein lies the gimmick, you ask? The player actually controls a family of space-faring folk. They'd control one member at a time, but could switch between them freely (with exceptions).
More?
- Player plays the "root" of the family (oldest?), who is induced into the control state for military purposes via some device (magic!). The player's computer would be the interface to the rest of the family, which amplifies the signal and allows cohabitation and control of the meat.
- This sure would make for some interesting "family dynamics" (guffaw!)
- In fact, there could be two ways to control the family: directly, via cohabitation (3rd person perspective); indirectly, via computer interface.
- As the root gains experience, he is able to better manipulate the family and would gain skills, stats (RPG-style).
- Would be a cool app for pymanymouse.
